Systems Librarian

Mercer University seeks an enthusiastic, creative, collegial, and service-oriented Systems Librarian who will provide oversight of all University Libraries automated systems and web services. As a member of the University Libraries Technical Services & Systems Department, the Systems Librarian interacts with library colleagues across the University.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide systems support for the University Libraries (Tarver Library/Macon, Swilley Library/Atlanta, and multiple Regional Academic Center locations). This position will be located at the Jack Tarver Library on the Macon campus. Some travel to other campuses will be required. Primary Duties Include:

-- Assist the Associate Director for Technical Services and Systems (ADTSS) to effectively plan, deliver, sustain, and assess library resources via the University Libraries website. Duties also include scripting, integration work and web application development.
-- Work with ADTSS and Campus IT to provide oversight and maintenance of Linux systems  (web, ILS) including server security.  Evaluate, plan, coordinate and execute software system upgrades.
-- Provides leadership in management of e-resource delivery systems resulting in smooth-functioning access to e-resources for all Mercerians regardless of physical location.
-- Supervises the Systems Coordinator staff position.
-- Provides limited reference and instruction services.
