ER&L in Austin is a little bit smaller than Nasig and Charleston, but you’ll see a lot of the same faces at all three.  The registration cost for all 3 is pretty close.  ER&L registration includes breakfast at the conference hotel, which also has a decent lunch buffet inside the connected hotel for less than $15. (and Austin is fantastic).

NASIG WAS primarily serials in nature in the past, but has broadened out to cover most electronic resources in the last few years.  “Computers in Libraries” and “Internet Librarian” are both awesome, but more expensive and not as library resources (e/books, e/journals, databases) focused as the first 3.   LITA is another really fun/interesting conference, but it’s again not as focused on ER-Librarian stuff as the first 3.

ER&L is the least expensive of the 3 to swing.  NASIG and Charleston are about the same as far as overall cost.   You can also do ER&L online and watch the sessions from your office, which is not very expensive at all – less than $300.  So doing the online for that out of  pocket and using your institutional travel funds for one of the others might be a possibility if you can swing it.

I’d say ER&L, Nasig or Charleston would be great “starter” conferences, whereas Computers in Libraries, Internet Librarian, the annual LITA Forum are more advanced conferences.  Does that sound about right to the ER-collective wisdom?:)

ER&L is excellent. NASIG is specifically serials, so it might not give you enough coverage on other things, like ebooks and other e-services - I don't go to it so I don't know for sure.

Another excellent one, but a little more expensive, is Computers in Libraries. It's hosted by a for-profit though, so if your funding requires non-profit conferences only, that one would be out.  But I've been blown away with ideasx every time I've gone.

Every other year is the LITA conference too.  Depending on what scope "electronic resources librarian" has for you, if it includes for instance a big role for content on your website, you might find the LITA conferences very helpful.

Fortunately pretty much everyone keeps past conference info online nowadays so you can look around and compare.

Although not new to Libraries, I am new to the role of Electronic Resources Librarian.  Our travel budget is very limited, but I have received permission to attend a conference this year.  What would be your collective recommendations as to which one to attend, as a"newbie"?  My goal is to learn as much as possible about not only Electronic Resources management but Print serials management as well.  So far I am considering The ER & L conference in Austin in April,  and the NC Serials conference in March. I would also consider the Charleston Conference in November, (although it's not focused solely on electronic resources and may be too large for a first timer? )
